About Rugby Club Tatra Smíchov
Rugby Club Tatra Smíchov belongs to the best known names in the Czech rugby. It’s a club with a rich history – established in 1958. We are the biggest rugby club in the Czech Republic. We cover all categories, starting with mini U6 through juniors, women, men elite and veterans.

We have developed and implemented a continuous programme of talent identification and training development to maximise our players‘ potential. Our efforts resulted in overwhelming achievements in the past 15 years.
THE GREATEST SUCCESSES OF THE CLUB
We have been crowned the Men’s XV Czech Champions in 1995, 1997, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2013, 2018. We have reached 6 finals and won 3 titles in the last 10 years. In 2007, 2008 and 2009 our men 7s team, women, women U19, cadettes and juniors achieved a series of successes while winning their categories. Our players are core members of the Czech National Rugby teams.
We host, support and organize international rugby events
New Zealand XV Ambassadors – an annual event
- A team of Kiwis who currently plays rugby in the United Kingdom and Europe.
- NZAs play an annual match against the Czech national team.
Prague Youth Rugby Festival
- held twice a year in Prague and its surroundings
- A 2 days festival for rugby clubs from across Europe.
- In 2018 over 1 500 children came to Prague to enjoy the game of rugby, have fun, create new friendships and have unforgettable memories.
